Stephanie Becker, MD

Dr. Stephanie Becker is a board certified ophthalmologist and has been in practice since September, 1994. Dr. Becker specializes in cataract, refractive and oculoplastic surgery, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma.

Dr. Becker received her medical degree from the Boston University School of Medicine, and completed her residency at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, where she served as chief resident.

As a practicing ophthalmologist, Dr. Becker was a recipient of the AMA Physicians Recognition Award.  She is also a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Long Island Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Becker is currently affiliated with North Shore University Hospital and Island Eye Ambulatory Surgical Center, and is also certified as an inspector for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF).

Michael Politi D.O.

Dr. Michael Politi is delighted to partner with Dr. Stephanie Becker and Total Eye Care and Aesthetics. Dr. Politi is dedicated to providing the highest quality, retinal and comprehensive ophthalmologic care, as well as state of the art cosmetic services to his patients. He is Board Certified Ophthalmologist and is a fellowship trained retina specialist.

In addition to providing routine ophthalmologic care to his patients, including routine eye exams, dry eyes, glaucoma, cataract evaluations and other conditions affecting the eyes, as a retina specialist he also treats many conditions ranging from age-related macular degeneration, retinal tears, detachment, holes, uveitis, as well as children and adults with hereditary diseases of the eye. Utilizing the latest, state-of-the art technology, Dr. Politi is able to perform many procedures in-office, including intra-vitreal injections and laser surgery for treatment of macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. Dr. Politi also has a passion for aesthetics and specializes in Neuomodulators (Botox, Dysport,Xeomin), Platelet Rich Plasma (prp) injections, filler, cosmetic lasers and the latest non-surgical blepharoplasty techniques including the subnovii.

Dr. Politi is affiliated with St. Francis Hospital in Roslyn, New York. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the American Society of Ophthalmologic Administrators. Dr. Politi also serves as a New York State Trooper Surgeon and is an Associate Professor at Touro University School of Health Sciences.

As an established ophthalmologist and retina specialist, for the past several years Dr. Politi has worked in a private practice in Nassau County. Previously, he was an associate at the Brooklyn Eye Center, where he completed his Fellowship training in Diseases of the Retina and Vitreous. Dr. Politi completed his Ophthalmology Residency training in Brooklyn where he served as Chief Resident. He is an alumni of the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Being a native long islander having grown up in Bellmore he regularly volunteered his time in the community with local organization; where he served as an EMT-Critical Care and a volunteer firefighter. In addition to volunteering his time in his community, before becoming a physician he worked as an EMT in the FDNY NYC 911 EMS system. Dr. Politi currently resides in Manhasset with his wife and son. His interests outside of work include art, playing sports, hiking, skiing, boating, and other outdoor activities. He enjoys cooking, golf, travel, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He is fluent in English and speaks conversational Spanish.

Dr. Politi’s goal is to provide the finest, high quality retinal and comprehensive ophthalmologic care to his patients in a welcoming environment. He believes it is crucial that patients have an understanding of their eye conditions and be partners in their eye health. He looks forward to his new partnership with Dr. Stephanie Becker and Total Eye Care and Aesthetics.

Rachelle Goller, OD

Dr. Goller is known for providing detailed examinations and comprehensive vision and eye care to children and adults. She specializes in difficult prescriptions, detailed reading prescriptions, and prism correction to maximize patients’ vision potential.

Dr. Goller completed her undergraduate degree in New York City at the Stern College for Women in Murray Hill, Manhattan, where she received recognition as the valedictorian . She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from State University of New York College of Optometry in Midtown Manhattan.

Dr. Goller completed a clinical internship, with a concentration in diagnosing glaucoma using the newest technology, at St. Albans VA Medical Center in St. Albans, Queens and a second internship at the East New York Diagnostic & Treatment Center in East New York, Brooklyn.

She performs detailed binocular vision evaluations to determine vision prescriptions and the need for vision therapy. Dr. Goller utilizes comprehensive contact lens fittings with advanced equipment to help patients achieve all-day comfort, maximum oxygen permeability, and optimal vision at all distances.

Dr. Goller’s goal is comfortable, perfect vision for her patients in all of their daily activities. She’s currently accepting new patients and welcomes the chance to establish long lasting relationships with excellent eye care.

Melanie Sheinheit, OD

Dr. Melanie Sheinheit has been practicing optometry since July 2001. She practices full scope primary care optometry including refraction and fitting of contact lenses.

Dr Sheinheit graduated from the State University of New York, College of Optometry and completed her postgraduate optometric residency at the New York Harbor Health System, Hospital of Veteran Affairs in Brooklyn. There she studied complicated diseases of the eyes and their treatment, including glaucoma. After her residency, Dr. Sheinheit practiced at Cornell Weill NY Presbyterian Hospital as a Clinical Instructor of Optometry and was in private practice in Manhattan with an ophthalmologist specializing in laser correction procedures.

Dr. Sheinheit graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan and is a big wolverines fan. She resides in Nassau County with her husband and two sons.

She is currently affiliated with the American optometric association (AOA) and the New York State optometric association (NYSOA).
